Fear of the DARK

Fear of the Dark?
We gain an hour tonight
Time for extra sleep, right?
It sounds so grand to say
But I see it another way
That precious extra hour
Imposed by the Ivory Tower
Takes away sixty minutes of evening light
Puts me in quite a plight
An hour more of darkness
That vast starkness
I prefer my light
Be saved for the night
Why even change the time?
Every minute of light is prime
Gets our biorhythms out of sync
Apparently of that they did not think
That extra hour of sleep
To me does not come cheap
Joy it does not bring
To lose an hour of light in the evening
Let me make it clear
It is not the dark I fear
But rather the absence of light
Liking my afternoons bright
Seasonal Affective Disorder
Puts me on the border
Creating obsession
With my depression
It’s not the dark I fear
But light to me is truly dear
